Are you excited about teaching and organizing in an academic setting? As a junior teacher at UMC Utrecht, you are going to contribute to innovative education within the Graduate School of Life Sciences.

As a junior teacher you will get a challenging temporary position in a dynamic environment at the Education Center of the UMC Utrecht. You are going to work on conducting and supporting education within the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS). This mainly concerns the educational activities that are carried out throughout GSLS, such as:

• The organisation and implementation of the introduction;
• The monthly workshops and seminars;
• The provision of education and individual student guidance in the 6-month profiles 'Translational Life Sciences' and 'Life Sciences & Society'.

You will be appointed at the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the Education Center. At Biomedical Sciences we function in a self-organizing team with enthusiastic colleagues in a result-orientated and informal atmosphere.

Biomedical Sciences is part of the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) of Utrecht University, which embodies various Master’s and PhD programmes of the Science, Veterinary and Medical faculty. More detailed information is available on:

Job requirements:

• A master’s degree, preferably in the Life Sciences field.
• You are analytical and can work project based.
• You understand people and their different functions, and you can enthuse, inspire and convince them.
• You are a team player and a creative problem solver.
• Your command of the English language is excellent, both verbally and in writing.
• Good command of Dutch (or willingness to learn) is preferred.

Dit bieden we jou

• A salary between € 3493 and € 5504 gross per month (salary scale 10), based on full-time employment (36 hours). 
• This job (0,8-1,0 fte) is based on a temporary position for 1 year.
• Salary increase of 3% from July 2025, according to the collective labor agreement (cao). 
• Year-end bonus of 8.3% and holiday allowance of 8%. 
• Pension insurance with ABP. We take care of approximately 70% of the monthly contribution. 
• 100% public transport reimbursement. Are you coming on foot, by bike or by car? You will then receive a reimbursement of € 0.18 per km (by car up to a max. of 40 km one way). 
• Possibilities to develop yourself personally and professionally. 
• The option to select additional employment benefits in exchange for gross salary, such as purchasing a bicycle and memberships.
